What is Chiropractic
Instrument Adjusting?

Just as lasers have replaced scalpels in some surgeries, advanced technology has become available to chiropractors to assist in delivering chiropractic adjustments. Dr Ashleigh and thousands of other doctors around the world now use the Activator Adjusting Instrument® in the care of their patients.

This patented and FDA registered device was specifically created to deliver gentle and precise chiropractic adjustments to the joints of the spine and extremities to relieve pain and restore function. Activator adjusting is a tried and true technique developed to provide controlled treatments to the specific areas you’re having trouble with.

Dr Ashleigh uses the Activator Adjusting Instrument to provide this treatment rather than the traditional manual methods. Activator adjustments are high-tech. There is no popping or cracking with these adjustments , but rather very precise and targeted adjustments designed to specifically care for just the right areas. Years of research have gone into the development of the Activator Instruments to create gentle chiropractic adjustments that are safe and effective for patients of all ages.

First Visit

Brief Paperwork

Before entering the office, we have some paperwork that we will need for you to fill out. The paperwork provides us with information about yourself and your condition. This paperwork is sent via email to you so that it can be filled out online. If you do not fill this out online you will be asked to arrive 30 minutes early for your appointment to fill it out.

Informational Video

After the office manager, Peggy, has gotten you signed in. You will then watch a video that will further explain the Activator and the type of care you will receive as a patient.

History Consultation

You will have a consultation with Dr. Ashleigh to discuss your health-related problems, concerns, as well as potential treatment options.

Same Day Treatment

Patients will generally be provided with their first adjustment during this same visit

We generally do not require x-rays prior to starting your treatment, however, in the case of a suspected fracture you will be referred to Hays Med for imaging before your first adjustment will be provided.

Schedule Your Next Appointment

You will be schedule a convenient appointment time for your follow-up visit.

Generally speaking, patients are seen within 2-3 days for a second appointment, and then several times over the coming weeks, depending on your condition. Your appointment frequency will be determined by your condition and your availability. We do not allow walk-ins. All appointments must be scheduled through Peggy or via the online portal.

About Dr. Ashleigh

Dr. Ashleigh is the Owner and a Chiropractor at Balanced Health & Chiropractic, PA. She now lives in Hays, KS but is originally from a small farming community in Illinois. Dr. Ashleigh has always had an underlying passion for health, which became readily apparent while in college. Dr. Ashleigh has always had a fascination with understanding WHY things happen and how they fit into the bigger picture. Eventually leading her to chiropractic school at Palmer College of Chiropractic in 2017.

You see, the reason Dr. Ashleigh has always had a passion for health is because she thoroughly understands what it’s like to not have it. Dr. Ashleigh had an amazing childhood, but suffered from many ear infections and digestive issues. Then through high school suffered from headaches and back pain due to sports.

Interestingly enough, this is WHY Dr. Ashleigh serves the population that she does. She FULLY understands all the struggles associated with chronically sick and stressed kids, and she wants to help them avoid that life-style.

It is the care and intervention that Dr. Ashleigh wishes she would have received as a kid. Her first adjustment wasn’t until she was already in college and she actually grew ½ an inch after she started receiving chiropractic care.
